Fable Has Been Delayed to 2026
Microsoft announced that the new Fable game will be delayed to 2026. It previously was expected to perhaps launch in 2025. The announcement was made via the February 25, 2025 Official Xbox Podcast, during which host Tina Amini sat down with Craig Duncan, the new Head of Xbox Game Studios, to discuss various upcoming Xbox releases. Most of the discussion during the Official Xbox Podcast revolved around games shown in the 2025 Developer Direct, including Avowed, South of Midnight, and the surprise reveal of Ninja Gaiden 4. However, towards the end of the podcast, Duncan revealed that Fable was being delayed to 2026. However, despite delays, the podcast does feature some brief examples of new gameplay footage for fans who wish to see more of the game. This includes some views of a town and assorted wild areas such as forests and plains. Brief snippets of combat were also shown off, revealing an assortment of monster designs including a werewolf and a giant bird monster. There was also a clip of the protagonist kicking a chicken.
