Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii: Is Kiryu or Ichiban in the Game?

Many Yakuza fans are wondering if Kiryu or Ichiban is in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. While Goro Majima is clearly the main protagonist of this spin-off, it wouldn’t be out of line for other Like A Dragon characters to show up in some way. Majima was in Infinite Wealth after all, so a cameo of his fellow Tojo Clan brother or the new Like A Dragon protagonist wouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Here’s whether Kazuma Kiryu or Ichiban Kazuga is in Pirate Yakuza.

Does Kiryu or Ichiban appear in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii?

Yes, Ichiban Kasuga does appear in Pirate Yakuza in a cutscene near the end of the game, while Kazuma Kiryu is mentioned but never seen. That said, both characters can become extra crew members on Majima’s ship as DLC.

We won’t spoil how Ichiban Kazuga is involved with the ending, but suffice it to say, he does make an important cameo when it comes to the main story. Otherwise, he’s technically available as part of the pirate crew as a pre-order add-on.

Along with his pet crawfish Nancy, who is added as a supporter, he will help Majima as a strong member of the Goro Pirates. Pre-ordering the game will also come with two special Ichiban Kasuga outfits for Majima. Fortunately, Ichiban Kasuga and Nancy will be available via the Ichiban Pirate Crew Set after the game is released as DLC.

As for Kazuma Kiryu, he is available as a crew member via the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. He comes as part of the Legendary Pirate Crew Pack, which has a total of seven extra characters that will join the Goro Pirates. Overall, having this pack makes ship battles easier over the long time, and it reduces the difficulty of the treasure hunt mini-game where you can bring a crew of four members with you.

It should be noted that both Ichiban and Kazuma won’t be unlocked until near the end of Chapter 2, which is when most of the bonus items in the pre-order and the Digital Deluxe Edition will be available.

The Digital Deluxe Edition also comes with the Ship Customization Pack that has two themed cosmetic sets for Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga.
