PS Plus Extra Game Disappears From Catalog After Release of PS5 Upgrade

A PS Plus Extra game curiously went missing from the catalog after its PS5 upgrade was shadow dropped earlier this week. Following a leak, Annapurna Interactive released a free PS5 upgrade for acclaimed game Sayonara Wild Hearts, which was supposed to replace the existing PS4 version in the Extra catalog. Instead, the game disappeared without a trace.

Sayonara Wild Hearts isn’t the only PS Plus game missing from the catalog

We first noticed Sayonara Wild Hearts missing from the Extra catalog shortly after Annapurna’s showcase this week, but chalked it up to PS Store SKU update hiccups, and held off on reporting the issue.

Our readers will recall that just last week, we reported that several games have disappeared from the catalog without a warning, at least one of which reappeared within 24 hours, indicating that the PS Store was experiencing a glitch or two. However, it’s been three days since Sayonara Wild Hearts received a native PS5 port, and at the time of this writing, it’s still nowhere to be found in the Extra catalog.

Earlier today, we noticed additional reports on Reddit that several classics have also gone missing from the PS Plus Premium catalog despite being listed as PS Plus games on Sony’s website.

Although we still believe that Sayonara Wild Hearts is the latest victim of a weeks-long glitch, we did notice something peculiar. Annapurna’s official press release mentions that Sayonara Wild Hearts is available as part of PS Plus Extra catalog. Much of the press release has the same wording as the PS5 upgrade’s announcement on the PS Blog. However, Sony makes no mention of the game being part of Extra in its own official announcement, which is quite odd.
