This is how big Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone will be

As some of you might have heard, Samsung is apparently developing its own tri-fold smartphone. This would be Samsung’s answer to the Huawei Mate XT, the first tri-fold smartphone in the world. Now thanks to a recent report, details about the Samsung tri-fold display size has been revealed.

According to the report, the Samsung tri-fold will feature a 6.49-inch cover display. For context, this is larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s cover display which measures 6.3-inches. Interestingly enough, the 6.49-inch display of the tri-fold handset will also be the same as the Fold 7.

We’re not sure if this means that both phones will be identical in their size, so we’ll have to wait and see. As for its inner foldable display, when fully unfolded, the device will reveal a 9.96-inch main display. However, unlike Huawei which uses triple displays that fold in a “Z” shape, Samsung will utilize a “G” shape.

This is done to better protect the inner displays when not in use. We’re not sure how much the phone will cost, but don’t expect it to come cheap. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is already priced close to $2,000, so we imagine that a tri-fold phone will retail for considerably more.

As of now, Samsung has not officially announced a release date for the tri-fold smartphone. However, the company is expected to launch it later this year, most likely alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.
