HONOR Magic V3 Review AM AH 15

A new report has just surfaced regarding the HONOR Magic V4, and the details it shares are… impressive. The information comes from Digital Chat Station, a well-known Chinese tipster.

Impressive HONOR Magic V4 details appear, suggesting a proper rival for the OPPO Find N5

Based on what he said, the HONOR Magic V4 is looking to rival the OPPO Find N5 straight on. The Find N5 took the Magic V4’s crown, as it became the world’s thinnest (book-style) foldable. It also offered a ton of other improvements.

Based on this report, the HONOR Magic V4 will be under 9mm thick when folded. So is the OPPO Find N5, though, at 8.9mm. So it’ll either be on the same level, or even thinner than OPPO’s offering.

Now, the most impressive part, the cameras. A 50-megapixel main camera will be included, with a 1/1.5-inch camera sensor. The OPPO Find N5 comes with a 1/1.56-inch camera sensor. So, they’re pretty much on the same level in that regard. But… not in the periscope telephoto camera department.

A 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera is tipped

The HONOR Magic V4 is tipped to offer a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 3x optical zoom. The OPPO Find N5 has a 1/2.75-inch periscope telephoto camera. So, at least on paper, this is a huge difference.

The HONOR Magic7 RSR Porsche Design handset has that same sensor, probably, as the sensor size is the same. It does a great job on that phone, so it sounds really exciting to have something like that on a foldable.

Digital Chat Station also said that the cover display will measure around 6.45 inches, and the main panel around 8 inches. Both of them will be 120Hz LTPO panels. A fingerprint scanner will be placed inside the power/lock key.

Furthermore, a full-fledged Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC will be used here, not its 7-core model. Wireless charging will be supported, but we still don’t know its speed. The device will be IPX8 rated for water and dust resistance.

The HONOR Magic V4 is tipped to arrive in May or June, despite the fact the Magic V3 launched in July last year. These are only rumors thus far, though.
