Course of lectures by Bill Mance "Descriptive set theoretic applications to the theory of normal numbers", 19 — 27 May, Kyiv

Date: 19 — 27 MayPlace: Kyiv This course of lectures by Bill Mance (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, LMS Distinguished Visiting Fellow at ICMU) will introduce an active research area with many accessible but challenging problems to solve. The goals of this series of lectures are to:— Introduce new mathematical concepts to enthusiastic younger mathematicians that are both accessable and challenging.— Suggest new research directions and possible international collaborations. An important theme will be that while these problems are presented in the context of normality, there are likely to be similar interesting questions that the speaker may not have thought of in other areas of mathematics. Thus, mathematicians of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend these talks.Registration by the link.Victoria Kondratiuk, v.kondratiuk@kse.org.ua
