30 Best Elden Ring Mods To Download In 2025

Since releasing in 2022, the Elden Ring community has created hundreds of mods for PC players to download. The mods offer a wide variety of add-ons in the Lands Between, including performance boosts, additional gameplay options, and even full, fan-made reworks of the game. While you can choose to sift through all these mods yourself, you can save some time and look at our list of the 30 best Elden Ring mods currently available to download. There's no better time to download some mods before trying out the newest Elden Ring game, Nightreign. This list contains some of the most popular mods in the Elden Ring community, but there are also some that we feel deserve some extra attention. The mods on this list are in no particular order. We recommend you check out the Nexus Mods page for each mod to see the possible requirements for the mods and how to download them correctly. Unlock the FramerateCreated By: TechieWFirst up on the list is a mod that every PC player needs to download. Unlock the Framerate is a mod that does exactly what it says. It uncaps your frames per second from 60 to whatever your PC can put out. If you have a monster PC with all the latest hardware, then you can achieve upwards of 100-200fps and finally see that realized in Elden Ring. Even if you think you won't get much higher than 60fps, it's still worth it to download the mod and see how many additional frames you get. It's possible an extra 10 or 20 frames could be the difference between living and dying to a boss in the Lands Between. Easy Mode Created By: odashikonbuListen, we get it. We know Elden Ring is supposed to be a brutally difficult experience that challenges your gaming skills at every turn. However, if you're someone who wants to explore this fantastic world solely for its lore or you're simply getting thrashed by every enemy you come across, then there's no shame in needing some extra help. That extra help can come in the form of the Easy Mode mod, which does a number of things to reduce the difficulty of Elden Ring. You deal more damage, take less damage, heal more, and you can tweak the mod to include several other helpful factors. Prepare to Die Created By: SilentvergeOn the other hand, if you're someone who didn't think the base gameplay in Elden Ring was hard enough, then the Prepare to Die mod is what you want to download. Prepare to Die does the exact opposite of the Easy Mode mod, making it so enemies deal more damage, have more health, are more difficult to stagger, etc. For you to even attempt this mod, you need to ensure you're taking advantage of everything the game has to offer. Use every item you can get your hands on, study opponents meticulously, and implement different strategies than you would normally use in the base game. If you can beat Prepare to Die, you're a true Elden Lord. Seamless Co-OpCreated By: LukeYuiWhile Elden Ring is already one of our best co-op games in 2024, you can take that feature a step further with the Seamless Co-Op mod. This mod makes it so you and up to five other players can join the same world in Elden Ring and play through the opening tutorial to the final boss as a group. Of course, since Elden Ring is an open-world game, you and your party don't have to stick together. Players can go off in their own direction and experience the game on their own, with Torrent even being available for all five players at the same time. However, when one player rests at a Site of Grace, the entire world resets for all players, so it can get confusing if players are too far away from each other. Regardless, though, this is a terrific way to play Elden Ring with friends. Posture Bar Created By: MordrogThere are few better quality-of-life mods than the Posture Bar. It can be extremely frustrating to try and guess when an enemy is going to become staggered, so this mod adds a yellow bar above/beneath every enemy's health bar to tell you what their current posture is. If the yellow bar is completely full, then they're at full posture and not close to being staggered. Once the yellow bar runs out, the enemy becomes staggered and you can go in for the kill with a lethal blow. Transmogrify ArmorCreated By: Tom ClarkHave you ever sat at the inventory screen in Elden Ring trying to decide between one armor's stats and another's appearance? While the best move is always to equip armor with better stats, you can easily grow attached to the way certain armor looks in-game. Well, with the Transmogrify Armor mod, you no longer have to make those tough decisions. This mod allows you to change the look of any armor in Elden Ring to the appearance of any other piece of armor in the entire game. Unlock the Framerate

Created By: TechieW

First up on the list is a mod that every PC player needs to download. Unlock the Framerate is a mod that does exactly what it says. It uncaps your frames per second from 60 to whatever your PC can put out. If you have a monster PC with all the latest hardware, then you can achieve upwards of 100-200fps and finally see that realized in Elden Ring. Easy Mode

Created By: odashikonbu

Listen, we get it.

Prepare to Die

Created By: Silentverge

On the other hand, if you're someone who didn't think the base gameplay in Elden Ring was hard enough, then the Prepare to Die mod is what you want to download.

Seamless Co-Op

Created By: LukeYui

While Elden Ring is already one of our best co-op games in 2024, you can take that feature a step further with the Seamless Co-Op mod.

Posture Bar

Created By: Mordrog

There are few better quality-of-life mods than the Posture Bar.

Transmogrify Armor

Created By: Tom Clark

Have you ever sat at the inventory screen in Elden Ring trying to decide between one armor's stats and another's appearance? While the best move is always to equip armor with better stats, you can easily grow attached to the way certain armor looks in-game. Well, with the Transmogrify Armor mod, you no longer have to make those tough decisions. This mod allows you to change the look of any armor in Elden Ring to the appearance of any other piece of armor in the entire game. Essentially, you now have the best of both worlds; you can equip the armor with better stats while having it look the armor you want. You can "Transmogrify" your armor whenever you rest at a Site of Grace in Elden Ring.

Pause the Game

Created By: TechieW and iArtorias

Here we have another stellar quality-of-life mod that simply allows you to press pause on your game whenever you want. One of the more frustrating aspects of Elden Ring is that you can never pause the game aside from when you rest at a Site of Grace. If you're out in the world exploring and suddenly something comes up in the real world, you have no way of protecting yourself in-game at that moment. Fortunately, the Pause the Game mod simply allows you to press a button and put a stop to everything going on in the game. When you're ready to get back into the action, the same button resumes the game from where you last stopped.

Magic Overhaul - Sorceries

Created By: Tellah9

For any player who wants to start a new playthrough as a Mage or Sorcerer, the Magic Overhaul - Sorceries mod is something you need to seriously consider downloading. This mod takes existing sorcery spells and revamps them while also adding new spells into the game. Existing spells see tweaks to their visuals or effects; for example, Comet Azur now has a longer range in this mod. New spells consist of a wide variety of effects that complement the existing spells in Elden Ring.

Quest Log

Created By: The Elden Ring Quest Giver

The base game of Elden Ring offers very little in the way of quest information. Unless you are actively writing down quest steps, it's difficult to remember what step of a quest you're on or even where to go next. The Quest Log mod takes care of all those concerns, giving you a quest tracker at a Site of Grace. The mod allows you to see your progress in each quest and even gives you some backstory to the quests themselves. Now, you don't have to worry about what quests you've started and keeping up with the details of each one.

Grand Merchant

Created By: Vawser

At the very beginning of Elden Ring, you run into the merchant known as Kale. While Kale has a solid assortment of items on offer, this doesn't even come close to matching the total number of items in the game. With the Grand Merchant mod, Kale sells every item in Elden Ring, allowing you to completely customize your gameplay experience. If you want some endgame content to demolish the Tree Sentinel with, Kale has the items for you to do so. However, if you're just looking for a one-stop merchant, then this mod also works. As a warning, if you play online using the Grand Merchant mod, you have a high chance of being banned, so it's recommended to stay offline with this mod active.

The Convergence

Created By: Convergence Team/AronTheBaron

The Convergence mod essentially makes Elden Ring a new game. This extensive overhaul of the game adds new classes, weapons, armor, spells, map locations, enemies, bosses, and gameplay features. It would take too long to list every single piece of new content The Convergence mod delivers but just know this completely changes Elden Ring. While you're still playing the same game at its core, your experience will be completely different from start to finish.

Disable Rune Loss on Death

Created By: TechieW

Another simple mod that does exactly what it says, Disable Rune Loss on Death is a true time-saver in Elden Ring. While losing your hard-earned Runes after dying is a part of the game, it can grow extremely frustrating if you're on a NG+ playthrough or someone who tends to die a lot. With this mod installed, you no longer have to worry about traveling back to a dangerous location or boss arena to retrieve the Runes you lost.

Item and Enemy Randomizer

Created By: thefifthmatt

One of the best ways to spice up Elden Ring after beating it once or twice is with the Item and Enemy Randomizer mod. This randomizes every element of the game, from shop items to boss fights to random enemy encounters. Items you find in chests or as drops from bosses are also randomized, which can make your run much easier or more difficult. You never know what you're going to get with the mod, as a random encounter with an enemy could pit you against Malenia or one of the tougher bosses in the game. This mod requires a lot of setup, though, so you'll have to follow the creator's instructions if you want to successfully use it.

Elden Ring Reforged

Created By: Kirnifr

If you're a fan of The Convergence mod, then you'll also enjoy Elden Ring Reforged. While the Reforged mod doesn't add as much new content as The Convergence, it does overhaul Elden Ring's base gameplay balance and mechanics. There are also new gameplay mechanics added with the mod as well as enemies, bosses, weapons, skills, and more. The biggest draw with the Reforged mod is how much it alters the balance of Elden Ring; every item in the game along with enemy scaling is changed. Any knowledge you had of Elden Ring has been erased with this mod, giving you an entirely new game to learn and explore.

Dark Moon

Created By: Dylan Alexander

Another overhaul mod, Dark Moon also adds new weapons, items, spells, and armor into Elden Ring. However, what's different about this mod is it also has a focus on the appearance side of the game. The character creator has been massively updated and there are new fashion options for your character in-game. If that wasn't enough to tickle your fancy, new gameplay mechanics, map areas, merchants, and changes to combat also come with the mod.

Remove Weight Limitations

Created By: ImAxel0

Having to decide between equipping a certain weapon or armor set and going over a certain "Equip Load" threshold is never easy in Elden Ring. While having a "Light Load" means you move and dodge faster, your armor isn't going to be very strong. On the flipside, having a "Heavy Load" means your armor has high defense, but you move at a snail's pace. With the Remove Weight Limitations mod, you can have your cake and eat it too. You'll always stay at "Light Load," even with the heaviest armor in the game. This means you can move and dodge fast while also having high defense armor equipped.

Map for Goblins

Created By: Harmonixer

The Map for Goblins mod is a perfect complement to the Quest Log mod we mentioned previously. This map mod gives you dozens of new markers that showcase important locations, items, bosses, and more. You can pick and choose what markers show up on the map to customize how you go about the game. If you want to see where every single item or quest is located, you can do that. However, if you simply want to see where a specific boss is located and don't want any additional markers, you have that option as well.

Ranged Weapons Rework

Created By: Phemeto

It's no secret that the traditional ranged weapons are the least popular class of weapons in Elden Ring. Players would much rather use sorcery or melee weapons to conquer the Lands Between. However, the Ranged Weapons Rework mod aims to change that, completely changing how Bows, Greatbows, Crossbows, and Ballistas work. Every ranged weapon's stats and scaling have been overhauled, each is given affinities, and there are more Ashes of War available for ranged weapons. Even the ammo for ranged weapons has been altered, giving ranged users a completely new experience.

Multiplayer Safe Level 125 and 150 Characters

Created By: CombatEng1neer

If you simply want to skip the grind in Elden Ring and go straight to endgame content, then the Level 125 and 150 Character mod is for you. This mod is especially useful with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, as you can go straight to level 125 or 150 with legendary items in your inventory. The mod also completes the map for you, defeating all dungeon and field bosses and discovering most map locations. When you download the mod, you're given the option to complete any one of the five endings and defeat any bosses that come with that. As the name suggests, this mod is perfectly safe for multiplayer and won't result in a ban.

Clever’s Moveset Modpack

Created By: Clever

After playing Elden Ring for a while, it's easy to grow tired of the same moves. Fortunately, Clever's Moveset Modpack adds over a dozen new movesets into the game for a wide variety of weapons. These individual movesets contain moves for both one-handed and two-handed forms as well as unique skills for your weapon of choice. The movesets look stellar in-game and offer a terrific change of pace from the same old moves in the base game.

Adjust the Field of View

Created By: TechieW

By default in Elden Ring, your field of view is locked to 48, which is quite low for a third-person game. The Adjust the Field of View mod allows you to unlock the FOV, giving you several new options to choose from. The max FOV you can go up to 100, which allows you to see plenty more of your surroundings. However, this also distorts your screen, so you might want to stick to 60-80 for the most optimal experience.

Performance Boost

Created By: Ruzzar

For anyone who's struggling to reach 60 frames per second or simply wants a slight jump in FPS, the Performance Boost mod can get you where you want to go. The mod does wonders for your in-game performance, eliminating many elements that cause your performance to dip. This includes removing shadows, volumetric effects, grass, rain, and more. While your game won't look as pretty, you should see a large jump in performance simply by downloading the mod.

No Smithing Stone No Problem

Created By: KeyGerstrike

Our final mod is another quality-of-life fix that eliminates much of the grind in Elden Ring. Smithing Stones are required to upgrade your weapons to new levels, which in turn increase their stats. However, it can be a real pain to find the exact Smithing Stone you need in the world, so why not just remove that element altogether? The No Smithing Stone No Problem mod makes it so you can upgrade all your weapons without needing a specific Smithing Stone. The mod also removes Gloveworts from the game, allowing you to upgrade Spirit Ashes for free as well.

Boss Resurrection

  • Created By: Vawser

Have you ever wanted to rechallenge a boss in Elden Ring? Whether you want to test a new build or simply have another crack at a tough boss, the Boss Resurrection mod gives you the chance to battle any boss again, as many times as you want. The mod also allows for you to teleport to the bosses instantly, making it so you can zip around the map fighting every boss you've killed during a playthrough. The rewards from these bosses don't reset, however.

Elden Lords Army of Summons

  • Created By: Joeri

If you're not an Elden Ring "purist," then you likely take advantage of all the in-game summons that help out during combat. While the base-game summons are fairly strong on their own, the Elden Lords Army of Summons mod adds over 200 new summons into Elden Ring. You can even upgrade the new summons from +0 to +10, and they have no cooldown, meaning you can call them into battle anytime you want. The summons themselves take the form of some iconic Elden Ring enemies, from Malenia to Mohg to the Tree Sentinel.

Boss Arena

  • Created By: RepO98-PositronCannon

While the Boss Resurrection mod is great during a normal playthrough, the Boss Arena mod adds a completely new layer to Elden Ring. It comes close to mimicking a boss-ursh roguelite, where all you have to focus on is killing bosses one after the other in a closed-off arena. You can summon any boss to fight and refight ones that might have challenged you. The mod features two different modes: one where you simply fight bosses and get all your gear for free, and another that's more of a separate game mode for Elden Ring, solely focused on boss fights where you have to work for all your gear by defeating bosses.

Syyyke's Level For Free Elden Ring Edition

  • Created By: syyyke

This is an extremely straightforward mod. Syyyke's Level For Free Elden Ring Edition simply removes every cost associated with leveling up your character. This means you don't have to spend any runes to level up, and you can make your character as strong as you want without any restrictions. While you might not want to use this mod for a first playthrough of Elden Ring, it's essentially a cheat mod that makes the game far easier.

DLC Ready Save File

  • Created By: byDelamain

The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC in Elden Ring is revered as one of the best post-launch additions to a game in the modern era. It's basically a standalone game, featuring a new map, bosses, and items. However, to start the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, you need to make it to a specific point in the main story of Elden Ring. If you want to bypass that and get right into the DLC, you can download the DLC Ready Save File mod, which places you at the entrance to the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. The mod starts you at the entrance as if you're on a normal first playthrough, so the game isn't 100% completed and you don't have every item in the game.

Elden Ring Unalloyed

  • Created By: mountlover

If you're not looking to download dozens of individual mods in Elden Ring, the Elden Ring Unalloyed mod is right up your alley. This mod adds dozens of changes to the game as well as incorporates other mods, such as Seamless Co-Op and a Randomizer. The mod prioritizes playing with friends and makes it extremely simple to play Elden Ring in co-op. You can visit the mod's page to see just how many changes are made by downloading it, but you'll essentially play a definitive version of Elden Ring just by installing the single mod.

Enemy Drops Overhaul

  • Created By: GameDesignTwins

The base-enemy drops in Elden Ring are insignificant, as the vast majority of enemies in the game simply drop runes for you to spend on upgrades and merchant purchases. However, if you download the Enemy Drops Overhaul mod, enemies will actually give you some useful items after they've died. The most notable of those items are Smithing Stones, meaning you no longer have to go out and search for different stones to upgrade your gear. Instead, just kill enemies and get a chance for a Smithing Stone or a plethora of other drops, such as gear and materials. You can also make it so enemies that didn't drop runes before can now drop them.
