One UI 7 is the newest Android skin based on Android 15 from Samsung. It debuted alongside the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year. The new Android skin is packed with features that would improve your user experience. While it will take a while before the new software experience reaches your particular Galaxy device, here are the best One UI 7 tips and tricks you should know about.
Now Bar
Samsung has introduced a new lock screen widget called Now Bar with One UI 7. It is a pill-shaped widget in the bottom that sits right between the two lock screen shortcuts. It can offer real-time information related to various apps and services like media playback, timer, stopwatch, flight details, and alarm. Once the device is unlocked, these activities will appear in the status bar. Now Bar can be enabled or disabled from the Lock screen and AOD settings.
Filter Notifications
As the name suggests, Filter Notifications is a feature meant to filter important notifications from the ones that are not so important. These can include older notifications, minimized notifications, and ones related to apps running in the background. It shows important notifications at the top in the notification panel and groups other unimportant notifications. This makes it easier to access and manage notifications that matter and keep all clutter away.
Good Lock
Good Lock is Samsung’s customization and personalization app for Galaxy devices. It is packed with features but has improved significantly with One UI 7. Users now have a lot more freedom to get creative and come up with truly unique and personal designs. Icons and widgets can be placed anywhere on the home screen. Users can create custom app icon shapes and add stickers among other benefits. Other biggest change is that Good Lock is finally available globally.
Call Transcripts and Recording
Call Transcripts is a new Galaxy AI feature that will debut alongside One UI 7. It transcripts your phone calls that can be read later whenever required. It also means the call reading ability is finally available for users in the United States. However, both sides will be alerted beforehand that the call is being recorded and transcribed. Call transcription is available in multiple languages including English.
Record Videos with Music Playing
One UI 7 users can now record videos while music is playing the background. This will allow the music to be included in the recorded video. The feature can be enabled through advanced settings of the Camera app.
Better Settings Search
Since modern phones can do numerous things, there are also numerous settings to take care of. It can get difficult to look for a particular setting buried under various other settings. But with One UI 7, you get Topics when you tap the search bar. Topics are basically categories like Galaxy AI, Emergency, Night, Music, Something Wrong, and S Pen to help you find relevant settings faster.
Camera Share
If you are a Galaxy ecosystem member with Galaxy Tab or Galaxy Book, you know that those devices don’t have cameras as good as your Galaxy smartphone. The good thing is One UI 7 lets you use the phone’s camera as a webcam for the Galaxy Tab or Galaxy Book. All you need to do is to visit Connected Devices settings and turn on Camera Share. You will also need to have Camera Share, Bluetooth, and WiFi turned on both the devices.
Smart Select
Smart Select is essentially an enhanced version of Circle to Search. It lets you select anything on the screen by drawing and do a lot more. You can create a GIF, extract text, copy, and download among other things. This new feature is accessible through the edge panel that you get by swiping from the side.
Group Alarms
One UI 7 has added the capability to group alarms set via the Galaxy Clock app. You can now group multiple alarms together and give them a name. These alarms can be turned on with just one tap. The option to group alarms becomes accessible when you tap and hold on one of them. It will be beneficial for people who have a different routine on different days, like one for weekdays and another for weekends.
