Summary: Verizon could be planning to give customers unlimited high-speed hotspot data. This is if they’re on the Unlimited Ultimate plan, and it could launch on April 17th.
T-Mobile has been going through a pretty rocky time with lawsuits because of data breaches, price hikes, and errors that charge users for free lines. Meanwhile, the other carriers seem to be having a better time. For instance, Verizon could be working on a new deal that will make it one of the most enticing carriers in the U.S.
You’ll want to take this news with a grain of salt, as anything could change between now and April 17th. That’s the rumored date that this new plan addition will launch.
Verizon could add unlimited high-speed hotspot data to its most expensive phone plan
Sometimes, you need to spread the love… and by that, we mean let other people use your internet. Your phone’s hotspot data could really come in handy in a pinch. The only issue is that it can run out quickly if you’re not careful.
Well, what if that wasn’t a problem? According to a new report, Verizon plans to add unlimited high-speed hotspot data to its Ultimate Unlimited phone plan. This plan costs $100/month ($90/month if you’re on autopay). It’s Verizon’s most expensive plan, and it already offers 60GB of hotspot data along with unlimited talk and text.
So, if the rumor is true, then Verizon could remove that cap and allow you to go crazy with your hotspot data. It could remove the 60GB limit and not cut your data off after a certain point. While that’s the case, some speculate that Verizon will slow your speeds down after you use 200GB.
Along with that, Verizon could also add unlimited international calling. What’s neat is that the company could expand international calling to cover more than just Mexico and Canada.
Rounding out the potential changes, Verizon could raise its roaming data cap. Right now, users have 10GB of roaming data, but the company could raise it to 15GB. An extra 5GB every month could really come in handy.
Price
How much will this raise your monthly bill? $0.00! If the rumor is true, then Verizon could offer this at no additional cost. That would make Verizon one of, if not the best, major carrier in the States. $100/month is not cheap, but this feature set could be a game-changer.
Rumor has it that Verizon will bring these features on April 17th. So, we won’t have long to wait.
