A recent report indicated that Samsung is all set to roll out the One UI 8 Beta update, based on Android 16, in the third week of May. Ahead of the launch, we’ve seen plenty of the features the upcoming big Samsung UI update will bring. If these leaks are true, One UI 8 will be more secure than One UI 7, which had a rocky start from the beginning.

Leaks earlier this month suggested that Samsung could finally fix Secure Folder’s security flaw with the One UI 8 version. Now, DalgleishGX, a tipster on X, suggests that the One UI 8 update will add a Private Album functionality to the Samsung Gallery application.

One UI 8 will make your photos and videos much secure with a feature called Private Album

X’s tipster was going around the latest leaked build of One UI 8 and found that it adds a Private Album feature to Samsung Gallery. It appears that this feature will mostly work like Samsung’s Secure Folder, but exclusively for your photos and videos.

The feature will be easier to use for people compared to Secure Folder, as it lives right inside the Gallery app. Samsung could build it using Android’s Private Space API, which Google introduced last year.
