Beat Saber PSVR and PSVR 2 Support Ends on PS4 and PS5

Yet another platform is going to lose access to new Beat Saber songs and updates, PS4 and PS5 owners with a PlayStation VR or PSVR 2 will no longer get anything new. According to the official announcement, this is effective immediately as of June 18, 2025. However, the existing game will be able to be played on both systems with both Sony headsets. The last addition to the game on both platforms was the single Shock Drop song “Abracadabra” by Lady Gaga. The announcement didn’t explain why support will be ending. It just said that this decision came ahead of “the next big leap” for the title. It also confirmed that the game isn’t being delisted. The game and its DLC will still be available on the PlayStation Store and work on both consoles with their headsets. Customer support will still be available.  However, there is another cut-off date in the future. Right now, PS4 and PS5 PlayStation VR and PSVR 2 players with Beat Saber can use the multiplayer mode. That support will end due to support ending. It will only be available until January 21, 2026. Again, no additional explanation was offered for that being pulled. This is the second recent instance of support being dropped for a Beat Saber platform. Beat Games and Oculus Studios ended support for the game on Meta Quest 1 in November 2024. At the time, it explained it would be due to that headset being unable to handle future updates. Beat Saber is playable on the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and VR headsets on PC, and PS4 PlayStation VR and PS5 PSVR 2 versions will exist, but get no new content as of June 18, 2025.  The post Beat Saber PSVR and PSVR 2 Support Ends on PS4 and PS5 appeared first on Siliconera.
