Samsung might have delayed the Galaxy Z Flip FE launch

Samsung just hit pause on its most anticipated budget foldable. The Galaxy Z Flip FE, once expected to debut alongside the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in July, has now been delayed to Q4 2025. That’s a big deal—especially since OPPO already stole the spotlight with the Find N5.

According to The Bell, Samsung is focusing on its premium foldable first. Mass production has already begun for the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 displays, while the more affordable Flip FE has been pushed to the back of the line. The same goes for Samsung’s rumored tri-fold, which is now also pegged for a late 2025 debut.

Samsung’s goal with the Galaxy Z Flip FE is pretty clear: make foldables more mainstream. Think of it like the Fan Edition versions of its S-series—less polish, lower price, same general vibe. Reports suggest it’ll reuse the Z Flip 6’s screen tech (120Hz, 2600 nits brightness), keep the same hinge, and pack a modestly tweaked Exynos 2500 chip. Not bad on paper.

But that delay gives rivals more time to lap Samsung. The OPPO Find N5, for instance, already delivered a thinner chassis, cleaner crease, and a huge battery leap using silicon-carbon tech.OPPO Find N5 Review—Sam…. It’s not just competition anymore—it’s catching up to something that’s already pulling ahead.

If Samsung still plans to launch the Z Flip FE later this year, we could be looking at a late fall reveal—possibly a separate event, or a quiet online launch to avoid cannibalizing the main Z Fold/Flip 7 buzz. Either way, the delay puts pressure on Samsung to justify the FE’s existence when phones like the Find N5 already look and feel like the next generation.
