A new report from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo offers fresh details on Apple's long-anticipated foldable iPhone. According to Kuo, supplier Foxconn is set to begin work on the project between the third and fourth quarters of 2025, with mass production expected in the second half of 2026.In an update shared on X, Kuo says the project is set to begin in late 2025, though many key components like the hinge are still being finalized. Some rumors suggest Apple may use a metallic glass material for the hinge—a design choice that's drawn particular attention.The foldable display is one of the few components with finalized specs, according to Kuo, and it serves as a useful reference point for estimating potential shipment volumes. He reports that Samsung Display is preparing to build an annual production capacity of 7 to 8 million panels to supply the 2026 foldable iPhone.
