Logitech MX Master 4 leaks via EU filing with subtle design changes

Logitech might be playing it safe with the MX Master 4, but that’s not a bad thing. The MX Master 3 is already one of the best-designed mice around. With the upcoming Logitech MX Master 4, the company is tweaking that winning formula just enough to make it better.

Images filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office reveal the updated design. Spotted by Notebookcheck and Guru3D, the new version keeps the familiar ergonomic shape, but there are a few subtle changes. The left and right click buttons are now wider, stretching across the top shell instead of stopping short like on the MX Master 3. It’s a small tweak, but it could offer better comfort and control.

There’s also a new thumb rest. It looks about the same size, but the material has changed. The new grip is sectioned off instead of wrapping around the back like before. It also might use a different texture, which could help with long work sessions or sweaty hands. Plus, the side of the mouse now has three buttons instead of two—handy for users who rely on extra shortcuts.

One strange addition is a small dotted circle on the thumb rest. It might be a button, but no one knows for sure. It seems too intentional to be decorative, so we’ll probably find out more once the mouse launches.

The LED indicator light has also moved. It now sits behind the DPI button on top, rather than beside the side scroll. There’s no official word yet on specs, pricing, or release, but expect support for both Windows and macOS. And hopefully, a longer battery life and better internals.
