Rejoice! WhatsApp users will finally be able to make calls from the web
Even though many people like to use the web version of WhatsApp, there are still some limitations to it compared to the mobile apps. Crucially, it’s not possible to make voice calls and video calls with contacts in WhatsApp Web. But the messenger service finally seems to be changing this. A current beta version of the web client shows that users will soon be able to make calls here too. The WaBetaInfo website discovered the function and explains that the introduction of the call function via the browser is only a matter of time. A first preview image was also shown. Here you can see the usual icons for voice and video calls in WhatsApp: WABetaInfo To be able to use the feature, you basically only need a webcam or other camera connected to the PC and a microphone. Then it will also be possible to hold something like video conferences via WhatsApp Web, which makes the app a good alternative, especially in view of the imminent discontinuation of Skype. Until now, you had to install separate applications for this. The WhatsApp Web client is therefore continuing to develop in a sensible way and is slowly offering the functions that we are used to from the mobile and desktop versions. It is not yet known when the new feature will be available for all users. It is still a beta test at the moment, but should soon be included in the live version of WhatsApp Web.
