Samsung recently opened the One UI 8 beta program in select regions, and it’s already at max capacity in the US. As of now, the company is only allowing the users of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra to enroll in the beta program for the latest software. However, the brand could soon be extending the One UI 8 beta program to older Galaxy devices like the Galaxy S23 and even the S22.

Samsung could extend the One UI 8 beta program to the Galaxy S23 in July

Samsung seems to be preparing to extend the availability of the One UI 8 beta program to the older Galaxy phones. The company has created new One UI 8 beta community pages for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 in Germany. Samsung could create similar pages and expand the availability of the One UI 8 beta update to more regions, including the US, UK, and South Korea, soon.

Samsung hasn’t created a similar page for the Galaxy S24 series, but these phones will likely get the beta One UI 8 update soon. It’s worth mentioning that Samsung hasn’t officially acknowledged the beta program expanding to older Galaxy phones yet. So far, the brand has only confirmed that a stable One UI 8 version will arrive with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 foldables in July.

According to X tipster Tarun Vats, Samsung could roll out the One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy S24 series by the end of June or in Early July. Furthermore, the leaker indicates that the Galaxy S23 series owners could get the same treatment in early to mid-July.

One UI 8 will bring these key features

Samsung’s new One UI 8 update will bring a handful of new features for Galaxy phones and tablets. The new functionalities could include alarm groups, file filtering in My Files, upgrades to the Now Bar, split-screen enhancements from Android 16, a panic button for the Secure Folder, and a fresh set of animations for various operations.

The new One UI version will also provide support for improved multitasking, tweaks to Samsung Internet and Samsung Reminders, and plenty more. Samsung will provide a full change log of the One UI 8 version during its next Unpacked event in July, so stay tuned to Android Headlines for regular updates.
