The Biggest Game Releases Of May 2025

We're closing in on the halfway point of the year, and typically, May is a bit more reserved when it comes to new releases. The good news is that there's still a lot to look forward to beyond the big tentpole releases this month, as original games from smaller studios and long-awaited sequels get a chance to shine this month amongst highly anticipated titles like Doom: The Dark Ages and Elden Ring Nightreign. Some of the other highlights here include a brand-new collection of Capcom fighting game classics, charming horror, and a boomer-shooter that might just give Doom a run for its money. Keep in mind, this will be the last month before Switch 2 releases, although thanks to backwards compatibility, these Switch games should work on the new console, too.For a closer look at what else you can expect in 2025, you can check out GameSpot's list of upcoming 2025 video games, the best games of 2025 so far, and a look at the most-anticipated games on the way across various platforms:PCPS5XboxSwitch Shotgun Cop ManRelease date: May 1Platforms: PC, SwitchHave you been wondering what the developers behind My Name Is Pedro have been up to lately? Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3

  • Release date: May 29

For the threequel, the combat system has been overhauled, several new systems have been introduced, and there are new strategic options for you to take advantage of in this turn-based tactics game.
