Summary: A brand new X app for Android could be on the way, at least based on what an X developer said. He said that a “next generation X Android” is coming, which sure does sound like a major update/redesign. It remains to be seen, but it seems like we could see some major changes in the X app… soon.
It seems like X is working on a brand new Android application. Attila, one of the developers over at X, replied to a user in a rather interesting way, which leads us to believe that a new app is coming.
A new X app for Android could be on the way, based on what a developer said
A user complained about the X Android app, as he seems to be having issues. Attila replied to him by saying that “folks are working on next generation X Android”. The way he phrased this does make us believe he’s talking about a brand new app.
You wouldn’t exactly say “next generation X Android” if you’re talking just about a new version of the same app, a generic update. That’s, unfortunately, all he said. This happened 10 days ago, but the news is just now making the rounds, thanks to Abhishek Yadav.
Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, he stuck with the Twitter app, but changed its name, and tweaked a number of things. It seems like far more notable changes are coming.
Many people loved the look and feel of the Twitter app, and X app still has some of that
It is worth noting that many people simply loved the Twitter app. It had/has arguably one of the best timeline implementations out there. You can always pick up where you left off, chronologically.
The general design of the app was also pleasing, and so on. We do hope that the new app that was mentioned here will not change the UI and its functionality drastically, as there’s a possibility it will take a turn for the worse.
It remains to be seen. X did add a ton of features since Twitter stopped being Twitter, however, so it’s becoming quite crowded. It’s not exactly a secret that Elon Musk wants to make X into an “everything app”, inspired by WeChat.
