PlayStation Announces 5 Anticipated PS5 Games Coming in 2025

Today, PlayStation revealed five upcoming indie games coming to PS5. Spanning several different genres, all of them are slated to release later this year. This includes a highly anticipated Devolver skateboarding game and the next game from Hyper Light Drifter developer Heart Machine.

What PS5 indie games did PlayStation reveal?

The five indie games PlayStation revealed today are Forever Skies, The Knightling, Posessor(s), Ruffy and the Riverside, and Skate Story. As mentioned above, all of these will arrive on PS5 later this year, and some already have concrete release dates.

Here is a description of each game from their developers via the PlayStation Store, as well as their release date or window:

Forever Skies – April 14

“Forever Skies is a first-person post-apocalyptic survival game. Play it solo or in coop and return to Earth, ravaged by an ecological disaster. Build, fly, upgrade and customize your high-tech airship. Craft tools, and scavenge resources to survive. Face dangers on the surface and hunt for viruses to cure a mysterious illness.”

The Knightling – August 28

“Sir Lionstone, the most powerful knight and protector of the great city of Clesseia, hasn’t returned from his latest quest. Possessor(s) – “Later” 2025

“Possessor(s) is a fast-paced action side scroller with combat inspired by platform fighters, a story told through dangerous characters, set in a deep interconnected world ready for exploration. Play as Luca, the host, and Rehm, her less-than-cooperative counterpart, as they explore a quarantined city ripped apart and flooded by an interdimensional catastrophe. Their only hope of survival is by learning to co-exist.”

Ruffy and the Riverside – June 26

“In Ruffy and the Riverside, you wield the magic SWAP to Copy & Paste textures – turn ice into lava or waterfalls into vines! Explore, fight, skate on straw bales, and unleash your imagination in this quirky open-world action game. Dive into an adventure that lets you literally change the world!”

Skate Story – Summer 2025

“You are a demon in the Underworld, made out of glass and pain. The Devil has given you a skateboard with a simple deal: Skate to the Moon and swallow it — and you shall be freed. Ollie, kickflip, and grind your way through the ash and smoke of The Emptylands as you take on a seemingly impossible quest. Learn to master your weight and motion to conquer the weeping concrete. Savour the ritualistic beauty as you set your feet to pop a perfect kickflip.”
