Classic Armored Core Games Are Purchasable Outside PS Plus

FromSoftware and Sony Interactive Entertainment have added the PS1-era Armored Core trilogy for PlayStation 5 and 4. The former also announced that people who do not have a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription (or Deluxe in Southeast Asia) can also purchase the classic Armored Core games separately. [Thanks, Inside Games!] The first Armored Core, Project Phantasma, and Master of Arena have appeared on the Japanese PlayStation Store with the same individual price tag of ¥1,100. We have also spotted the same games on the European and Southeast Asian storefronts at £7.99 and SG$13.14 respectively. As of this writing, Sony Interactive Entertainment is gradually adding the classic games on the US storefront at $9.99 apiece. We can therefore confirm that the non-subscription purchases are available worldwide. For the record, the first Armored Core appeared on the PlayStation in Japan in July 1997, with its prequel Project Phantasma following suit in December 1997. Master of Arena was the last PS1 game released in 1999 before FromSoftware moved on to the PS2. In the series' whole chronology, the studio also put the Armored Core 2 sub-series in the same ED timeline as the PS1-era games. The first Armored Core, along with the two other PS1 games Project Phantasma and Master of Arena, are now available on PlayStation 5 and 4 worldwide.
