FFVII Rebirth Won Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2024

Kadokawa Game Linkage has announced the winners of Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2024, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth came out as a dominant force in the event. The second entry in Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy won a whopping seven awards, including the event's most prestigious Game of the Year award. These awards covered video games released in 2024. Famitsu and Dengeki mostly based the winners on public votes from Japanese gamers, which were available from December 16, 2024, until January 13, 2025. One peculiar thing to note is the complete lack of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth in the award-winner list despite being featured on the event's key visual. For the record, Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom won the Game of the Year award in the 2023 edition. Atlus' Metaphor Re:Fantazio also won the Most Anticipated 2024 Title award, but it could not dominate the 2024 awards list. It also ended up only winning two awards in 2024, although it still received a distinction as the only other game to win more than one award besides Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Here is the complete list of winners in the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2024: Game of the Year: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth MVC (Best Game Developer / Studio): Final Fantasy VII Rebirth development team Best Scenario: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Best Graphics: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Best Music: Metaphor: ReFantazio Best Voice Actor: Maaya Sakamoto, for her role as Aerith Gainsborough in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Best Character: Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Best Online Game: Final Fantasy XIV Best Action Game: Astro Bot Best Action Adventure Game: Rise of the Ronin Best Adventure Game: Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club Best RPG: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Best App Game: Zenless Zone Zero Best Indie Game: Nine Sols Best Rookie: Metaphor: ReFantazio Most Anticipated 2025 Title: Pokemon Legends Z-A Famitsu-Dengeki Special Awards: Black Myth: Wukong, Doraemon: Dorayaki Shop Story, and Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which dominated the winner list of Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2024, is readily available worldwide on PlayStation 5 and PC.
