Honor Magic V5 specs leak: Snapdragon 8 Elite, 16GB RAM, and ultra-thin foldable design

The Honor Magic V5 is shaping up to be one of the most impressive foldables of the year, with specs leaks now pointing to a launch by the end of this month. According to Abhishek Yadav on X and a host of Weibo tipsters including DirectorShiGuan, the Honor Magic V5 will pack a massive 6100mAh battery. This is a 20% boost over its predecessor and the largest ever in a foldable phone.

The battery size is a direct shot at the upcoming Vivo X Fold 5, which is rumored to feature a 6000mAh cell with 90W wired and 30W wireless charging.

But the Honor Magic V5 isn’t just about battery bragging rights. It’s also rumored to be the thinnest and lightest foldable on the market. One Honor exec teased that the device will measure just 9mm thick when folded. This is down from 9.2mm on the previous generation. That could make it even slimmer than the already impressive Oppo Find N5.

Under the hood, the specs of the Honor Magic V5 suggest it will run the Snapdragon 8 Elite “Leading Version.” This features two prime cores clocked at 4.47GHz for extra performance. According to the Geekbench listing, it shows the phone running Android 15 with 16GB of RAM.

As for the display, rumors suggest an 8-inch folding screen, plus a 200MP periscope camera to top it all off. Honor is keeping official launch details under wraps for now. However, the message is clear. The company wants to keep its crown as the thinnest foldable, even as it pushes battery capacity and power to new heights.
