One of PS3’s Best Games Getting Trophies for the First Time

It’s an exciting day for PlayStation players as one of PS3’s most popular games is finally getting trophies on the PS5. We’re talking about none other than The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the remake/remaster of which will be revealed in a few hours and reportedly shadow drop today for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was never patched with trophies like Fallout 3

For those new to the PlayStation ecosystem, the PS3 did not launch with trophies. The feature was added in 2008, and by 2009, Sony had made it mandatory for developers to include trophy lists in their games.

Although Bethesda patched Fallout 3 with trophies post launch, Oblivion didn’t receive the same treatment, much to fans’ disappointment. But that should change today, if the rumors of Oblivion’s PS5 release are true. Even if the game doesn’t shadow drop today, its existence is all but confirmed, so PS5 players will be popping Oblivion trophies sooner rather than later.

At the time of this writing, trophy scraping websites like PSNProfiles have not picked up any lists from PSN’s back end, but we’ll make sure to update our readers as soon as we spot something.
