How to start Seeking Your RootsYou can technically start Seeking Your Roots at hundreds of different locations on the map in Oblivion Remastered. The quest begins after you find and loot a Nirnroot Plant, which is a bluish-green weed that's located all across Cyrodiil. Nirnroot Plants start to hum as you approach them, so if you hear a peculiar noise in the background of your game, that's probably what it is.When you loot your first Nirnroot Plant, you'll start the Seeking Your Roots quest. However, if you track the quest, you won't get any sort of objective on the map. All you're told is that you need to find an alchemist, and hopefully, they'll know what to do with it. Where to go with the Nirnroot PlantThere are a couple of ways you can approach the next part of the quest. You can either try to seek out an alchemist or another type of merchant on the map and ask them about the Nirnroot Plant. For example, I went to the Market District of the Imperial City and talked to a shop owner. During that dialogue, I was able to ask them about the Nirnroot, and they then pointed me in the right direction.Of course, if you don't want to waste your time asking someone, you can go right to the source. The alchemist you're looking for is called Sinderion, and he's located in the basement of the West Weald Inn in the city of Skingrad. Skingrad is located southwest of the Imperial City along the Gold Road. Inside Skingrad, you can find the West Weald Inn right near the western gate.Head inside the inn, go to the door at the back of the tavern, and then head inside to Sinderion's Cellar. Speaking with SinderionSinderion's Cellar is a basement lab where Sinderion performs all sorts of alchemical experiments. In the cellar, you can speak to Sinderion and show him the Nirnroot Plant you've found. He'll examine the sprig of Nirnroot and explain some of the history behind it. Most notably, the Nirnroot is a key ingredient in an "explorer's" potion called the Elixir of Exploration that has some interesting qualities. However, to make the potion, Sinderion needs 10 Nirnroot Plants. So, where can you find more Nirnroots in Oblivion Remastered? How to find more Nirnroot PlantsTruth be told, over 300 Nirnroot Plants are lying around Cyrodiil, so there's not a single area that holds all 10 you need for Sinderion. However, Sinderion does mention you can visit a location called Shadeleaf Copse, which is located northeast of Skingrad. Shadeleaf Copse is home to three Nirnroot Plants, all of which are spread out on the shore of a small pond. You can collect these three Nirnroots to add to your total, but what about the others you need?Nirnroot Plants are most commonly located around water. Any water source in Oblivion Remastered will likely have at least one Nirnroot Plant lying around it, and you can see where large water sources are by looking at your world map. However, you can also find Nirnroot Plants in a variety of other locations as well. For example, I was able to find a Nirnroot sitting in a pot inside the Odiil Farm house, which is located on the Black Road between the Imperial City and Chorrol. Not all Nirnroots are growing next to water, but that's where you'll find a majority of them in Oblivion Remastered. The best way to search for Nirnroots is to fast travel around the map to where there's water, or simply play the game naturally. You're not going to finish Seeking Your Roots quickly, so you might as well explore the map as you normally would and discover Nirnroot Plants organically. As long as you're on the lookout for them, you should be able to find a solid amount within the first few main story quests. Returning to Sinderion with Nirnroot PlantsOnce you have collected 10 Nirnroot Plants, you can return to Sinderion in Skingrad and tell him you have the plants for the Elixir of Exploration. He'll be delighted and tell you to come back in a day to claim your free potion. Use the wait function in Oblivion Remastered ("T" on keyboard), wait for 24 hours, and then talk to Sinderion again. He'll say that he has the free Elixir of Exploration for you, and you can purchase the elixirs from him at a discount. However, to make more and stronger Elixirs of Exploration, Sinderion says he needs 20 new Nirnroot Plants. At the quest's completion, you'll be able to buy a Grand Elixir of

Nirnroot Plants are most commonly located around water. Any water source in Oblivion Remastered will likely have at least one Nirnroot Plant lying around it, and you can see where large water sources are by looking at your world map.

However, you can also find Nirnroot Plants in a variety of other locations as well. Returning to Sinderion with Nirnroot Plants

Once you have collected 10 Nirnroot Plants, you can return to Sinderion in Skingrad and tell him you have the plants for the Elixir of Exploration.

At the quest's completion, you'll be able to buy a Grand Elixir of Exploration.

To complete Seeking Your Roots in Oblivion Remastered, you need to bring Sinderion 100 Nirnroot Plants in total. After he asks for 20, he'll ask for more and more until you bring him 100 of them. The request count goes like this: 10, 20, 30, 40.

When you hand over your 100th Nirnroot Plant, Seeking Your Roots is complete. You can now use Sinderion as an alchemy shop to buy or sell ingredients, buy Elixirs of Exploration, and sell any additional Nirnroot Plants you find. You can only sell the Nirnroots 10 at a time, though.
