If you have ever had a wild dream of AI helping you to land your dream job, it might actually be possible soon. LinkedIn, a popular networking and job search platform, is adding a new AI tool that lets you search for jobs more easily. You can simply describe the job role you want to search for, and AI will work its magic; it’s that easy.

LinkedIn has launched a generative AI-powered search feature that lets you describe your ideal job

LinkedIn has offered a generic job search feature for a while that mostly relied on keywords. However, the company is now ditching the traditional way of searching for jobs through keywords. Rather, you can use AI-powered search to get precise results for job roles.

What’s interesting is that you can search using natural language descriptions. Say, you can search, “find me entry-level brand manager roles in fashion,” or “jobs for analysts who love sustainability challenges.” These are just a few examples, you can search whatever you like, honestly.

LinkedIn wants to offer people flexibility during the job hunt, which wasn’t possible initially with the restrictive search. There used to be a lot of filters that you had to choose from to narrow down the job search. Well, that shouldn’t be a problem anymore.

Speaking about the AI-powered job search, LinkedIn career expert Zara Easton says, “AI is changing the way we work, and job search on LinkedIn will completely change the way people find their next opportunity. Our hope is that this way of discovering roles — and even new careers — will bring together job seekers’ skills, interests, and aspirations to find their next step.”

Premium users can use the feature starting today

If you are a LinkedIn Premium subscriber, you should be able to use the new AI job search tool starting today. Additional perks for Premium subscribers include access to AI-powered “job coaching.” As the name suggests, paid subscribers will be able to practice interview questions, pitches, and other tasks.

LinkedIn will also notify app/web users when the company behind a given posting is actively reviewing applications. The company says the general availability of the AI search feature will roll out by the end of the week. Moreover, the feature is only available to LinkedIn users with their language set to Global English. With many industries already dominated by AI, we expect more and more companies to make the most of this technology.
