Xiaomi Unveils XRING O1 and T1 Chips to Rival Apple Silicon

Xiaomi has introduced two custom-designed system-on-chips, the XRING O1 and XRING T1, marking a major step in its push to rival established chipmakers like Apple. The announcement came during Xiaomi's "A New Beginning" event in Beijing, with the new processors positioned as direct challengers to Apple silicon in both flagship mobile devices and smartwatches.The XRING O1 is Xiaomi's new high-end processor, built using a second-generation 3nm process and containing 19 billion transistors. It features a 10-core CPU architecture with two Cortex-X925 cores running at 3.9GHz, alongside a 16-core Immortalis-G925 GPU. Xiaomi says the chip delivers top-tier performance with strong power efficiency, a hallmark of Apple's M-series chips. The O1 also includes Xiaomi's fourth-generation Image Signal Processor (ISP) and a 6-core Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of 44 TOPS, aimed at supporting advanced AI workloads.
