PS5 Pro Gets Upgrade for One of the Best Exclusives on PS Plus

PS5 Pro players have been treated to a free upgrade for one of Sony’s best first-party console exclusives this gen. Housemarque’s Returnal just dropped a “Pro Enhanced” patch, which players had been requesting for a long time.

Returnal PS5 Pro upgrade marks the game’s fourth anniversary

Patch notes for Returnal update 3.000.005 are scant since the update specifically targets the PS5 Pro. According to Housemarque, the game features “2.5X the pixels on PS5 Pro for a higher resolution experience of Returnal.”

The update coincides with Returnal’s fourth anniversary.

PS5 Pro owners with PS Plus Extra or Premium membership can jump into Returnal right away as it’s currently part of the catalog. Everyone else has to fork out the full price because the game isn’t currently part of any PS Store promotions.

As a reminder, Returnal has a co-op mode, so you can team up with a friend to play.

Unfortunately, Returnal isn’t included in PS Plus Premium cloud streaming library, for some reason. It’s a bit of an odd omission considering it’s a first-party game. Then again, Returnal only just received a Pro Enhanced patch, so it probably isn’t that high up on Sony’s list of priorities.

Housemarque is currently working on its next PlayStation exclusive, Saros.
