Galaxy XCover7 Pro and Tab Active5 Pro get smarter, tougher, and longer-lasting

Samsung has announced its new Galaxy XCover7 Pro and Tab Active5 Pro. Both devices are built for teams who work in harsh environments and can’t afford downtime. These rugged enterprise devices now come with faster chips, bigger batteries, and smarter durability tweaks that actually matter on the job.

Galaxy XCover7 Pro

First up, the XCover7 Pro is a solid upgrade over the original. It swaps out the Dimensity 6100+ for the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, which is nearly twice as fast. Samsung pairs that with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and microSD support up to 2TB for all your field data. The battery’s been bumped to 4,350mAh, and you can charge it via USB-C 3.2 or pogo pins for easy dock setups.

The phone’s 6.6-inch LCD now runs at 120Hz, giving smoother scrolling even when you’re wearing thick gloves. And it handles rough conditions like a champ—IP68-rated for water and dust, MIL-STD-810H certified, and tested against common workplace sanitizers. Gorilla Glass Victus+ shields the screen, while stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and anti-feedback tech keep calls clear in noisy environments.

You’ll also get programmable keys for instant access to tools like barcode scanning or walkie-talkie mode, plus solid 5G and Wi-Fi 6E support. For frontline workers, that means less lag, more uptime.

Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro

The Tab Active5 Pro takes it a step further. It’s got a bright, ruggedized 10.1-inch display at 120Hz, a serious jump from the regular Tab Active5. Under the hood, the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 powers the tablet, with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, expandable to 2TB.

Its 10,100mAh battery doesn’t just last longer—it’s hot-swappable, so workers can swap in fresh batteries without shutting down. Or skip the battery entirely: No Battery Mode lets the tablet run off mains power 24/7, perfect for vehicle mounts or kiosk setups.

Samsung’s pushed the Tab Active5 Pro into proper multi-tool territory. The S Pen is IP68-rated and works even in wet conditions. The tablet’s front-facing NFC reader can scan tags right through the screen, making it ideal for point-of-sale or asset tracking. Stereo speakers, customizable keys, and advanced security with Knox Vault round out the package.

Pricing & availability

As for availability, Samsung says both rugged enterprise devices will hit Europe first later this month, priced at €610 for the XCover7 Pro and €810 for the Tab Active5 Pro (128GB). The US launch is expected in early June.
