Summary: The Vivo X200 Ultra flagship has a launch month, the phone will arrive in April. In other words, it’s coming next month, and yes, this is official information. Vivo confirmed as much during the Boao Forum for Asia. This announcement comes along with the showcase of the Vivo Vision, the company’s first MR headset. Vivo also announced its focus on robotics during that Forum.
Vivo had plenty to say during the Boao Forum for Asia. The company showed off its very first MR headset, the Vivo Vision, which we already talked about. It’s a prototype for now, but the real thing is coming mid-year.
In addition to that, Vivo also announced the establishment of the Vivo Robotics Laboratory. That MR headset will play a part in the company’s robotics plans. That’s also something we already covered. As if all that wasn’t enough, the company also decided to share some smartphone news.
Many people are waiting for the Vivo X200 Ultra to see the light of day. The Vivo X100 Ultra launched in May last year, so the Vivo X200 Ultra should be around the corner, and it is.
The Vivo X200 Ultra will launch in April, it’s official
Vivo has officially confirmed, during the Boao Forum for Asia, that the Vivo X200 Ultra will launch in April. The company flat-out mentioned the name of the phone, so this is not a teaser or anything like that. It’s a full confirmation.
What we don’t know at the moment is when exactly in April can we expect it. It is coming, though. We also don’t know if it will be a global product or not, but chances are it will not. We’re only guessing based on everything we’ve seen thus far.
Vivo will share more information down the line, but almost every availability-related rumor we’ve seen says that it will be a China-only device, unfortunately. Luckily we have a global version of the Vivo X200 Pro to enjoy.
The device is expected to offer a phenomenal camera setup
In any case, the Vivo X200 Ultra is expected to have a truly phenomenal camera setup. It will have three cameras on the back. The main and periscope telephoto cameras will be the same as on the Vivo X200 Pro, based on rumors. Sony’s LYT-818 sensor (50MP) will be used for the main camera and the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor for the periscope telephoto camera (200MP).
The ultrawide sensor will get a huge boost with the Sony LYT-818. The ultrawide camera will actually default at 1x, while the main camera will default at 1.5x. That means that the default focal length will be 35mm, based on rumors. ZEISS will also be a part of the package, and the phone will offer high-end specs in general.
