A promising PS5 multiplayer shooter game scheduled for release in 2025 could possibly join PS Plus on or after launch. Former Blizzard Entertainment developers have revealed a crew-based space shooter, Wildgate, with studio Moonshot Games confirming that it’s considering its options when it comes to subscription services.
Promising space shooter Wildgate could benefit from PS Plus launch
Wildgate promises “intense” first-person shootouts in space sometime in 2025. A playtest for the game will take place between April 10 and 14.
During a press roundtable, Wccftech quizzed Moonshot about releasing Wildgate on PS Plus or Game Pass to potentially benefit from a healthy player base right out of the gate, in response to which business manager Justin Lane revealed that the devs “definitely are thinking about it.”
“Those are some very good tools to drive players into your community and to quickly grow just because it is a subscription service that can bring in many players to your game, so it’s something that we have considered and that we are still considering in the future,” Lane said, adding that a decision has not been made at this time.
If Wildgate launches on PS Plus, it’ll be 2025’s fifth PS Plus day-one game. The following games have launched or are scheduled to launch on the service day-one this year:
- FBC: Firebreak
- Blue Prince
- Abiotic Factor
- Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1 & 2
