If you ever wondered why things seem a bit jittery when you're flying compared to when you're exploring on foot, that's why. This mod is a simple one that pushes the framerate to 60fps, and there's a 120fps version as well, if you want to take it further. Starfield FOVCreator: Hellstorm102Download link: NexusModsYou can technically change Starfield's field-of-vision using methods similar to those outlined in this mod. That involves creating a text file and inputting a handful of specific lines to manually adjust the FOV, since Starfield has no in-game slider for it. However, the mod removes some of the additional steps and makes the process a bit less intimidating for those who aren't used to tinkering with game files. StarUI InventoryCreator: m8r98a4f2Download link: NexusModsStarfield's inventory interface isn't exactly the easiest to parse on PC, which is where StarUI Inventory comes in. This Starfield mod lets you sort columns more easily and actually see what you have in your cargo and ship storage and includes an option to move entire categories of items from cargo to inventory with a single click. That's useful for item management, of course, but also for quickly selling off items you don't need, so you can clear cargo space more efficiently. Legendary ShipsCreator: Vitamink45Download link: NexusModsIf you hoped you could eventually add the three legendary ships to your collection of Starfield's best ships, now you can. This mod lets you add the Va'ruun Shroudbearer, Ecliptic Battleship Shroudbearer, and Space Scavenger Blattodea to your fleet, albeit for a price. You'll still have to purchase them from the New Atlantis Ship Builder, so you may want to take advantage of Starfield's money glitch to pad your wallet first. Mod creator Vitamink45 also recommends using a small collection of other mods to help keep the game from crashing when you dock at a space station with one of these ships, since they aren't designed to handle these behemoths. These include Save Unfinished Ships, TN's Ship Building, and CCR Flight Camera. Star Wars Blasters and MeleeCreator: CrozzbowDownload link: NexusModsIt was only a matter of time before someone decided Starfield needed more Star Wars in it. Star Wars Blasters and Melee replaces every weapon in Starfield--except the Cutter, which is only sort of a weapon anyway--with a counterpart from the Star Wars universe. Everything from Imperial assault rifles to Rebel pistols is here, along with some less instantly recognizable pieces, such as a fork-nozzled blaster that resembles a harpoon more than anything else.If Destiny is the space world you prefer, there's a mod that does the same thing, but makes it Destiny-flavored. Star Wars GenesisCreator: DeityVengyDownload link: NexusModsFor even more Star Wars, there's Star Wars Genesis from DeityVengy. This mod adds conflict between Imperial and Rebel factions, who now attack members of the opposing faction on site; Star Wars-themed cities and settlements; ships from Star Wars; new factions; Jedi Force powers; more planets and unique biomes--it's almost an entire game built in Starfield. The mod includes its own story quests and side quests. You can play as a droid. It even fixes some known, lingering bugs in the base game. As if that's not enough, the mod maker regularly updates it with more features and plans to continue expanding. Constellation CollectionCreator: 2077v2Download link: NexusModsThe Constellation Collection bundles over a dozen mods to help make Starfield pretty much whatever you want it to be. There's a set of difficulty modifiers, one that changes how often legendary-grade items drop, and a package of alterations to things like NPC behavior, including how often they blink and their uncanny ability to identify and greet you from a long way off. Like with most mods, these only work for Starfield for PC, specifically the Steam version. You cannot install Starfield mods on the Windows or PC Game Pass version. If you're after something fresh and new on consoles instead, check out our picks for the best PS5 games and best Xbox Series X|S games to play in 2025. 60 FPS - Smooth UI

Starfield's UI is locked to 30fps, which might sound like a non-issue for menus, but it applies to things like ship navigation as well. If you ever wondered why things seem a bit jittery when you're flying compared to when you're exploring on foot, that's why. This mod is a simple one that pushes the framerate to 60fps, and there's a 120fps version as well, if you want to take it further.

Starfield FOV

  • Creator: Hellstorm102
  • Download link: NexusMods

You can technically change Starfield's field-of-vision using methods similar to those outlined in this mod. That involves creating a text file and inputting a handful of specific lines to manually adjust the FOV, since Starfield has no in-game slider for it. However, the mod removes some of the additional steps and makes the process a bit less intimidating for those who aren't used to tinkering with game files.

StarUI Inventory

Starfield's inventory interface isn't exactly the easiest to parse on PC, which is where StarUI Inventory comes in.

Legendary Ships

If you hoped you could eventually add the three legendary ships to your collection of Starfield's best ships, now you can. These include Save Unfinished Ships, TN's Ship Building, and CCR Flight Camera.

Star Wars Blasters and Melee

It was only a matter of time before someone decided Starfield needed more Star Wars in it. Star Wars Blasters and Melee replaces every weapon in Starfield--except the Cutter, which is only sort of a weapon anyway--with a counterpart from the Star Wars universe. Everything from Imperial assault rifles to Rebel pistols is here, along with some less instantly recognizable pieces, such as a fork-nozzled blaster that resembles a harpoon more than anything else.

If Destiny is the space world you prefer, there's a mod that does the same thing, but makes it Destiny-flavored.

Star Wars Genesis

For even more Star Wars, there's Star Wars Genesis from DeityVengy.

Constellation Collection

The Constellation Collection bundles over a dozen mods to help make Starfield pretty much whatever you want it to be. There's a set of difficulty modifiers, one that changes how often legendary-grade items drop, and a package of alterations to things like NPC behavior, including how often they blink and their uncanny ability to identify and greet you from a long way off. You can own more ships, customize photo mode, change enemy combat behavior--and that's barely scratching the surface. The collection is massive, and you can choose which packs or individual mods you want to download and install or just get everything.

Starfield Combat Overhaul

Combat Overhaul focuses on improving health scaling and how skills, weapons, and crew members behave. The idea behind it is that the current scaling system makes weapons too powerful and gives characters an unnatural amount of health to compensate. Battles feel too easy or last too long as a result, with no happy middle ground. Combat Overhaul lowers health pools, while balancing power for weapons based on their type and rarity grade to make each encounter feel more intense, like a dangerous situation where you have to strategize instead of just lobbing shots at the same enemy for five minutes until they die.

Improved Combat AI

Another essential battle mod that works well with Combat Overhaul is Improved Combat AI. This one adjusts how opponents behave in battles by making them more aggressive, but also smarter about it. Don't expect some more schmuck with a knife to come charging at you, a rifle-wielding space warrior, from across a big room anymore. Enemies use cover strategically, take advantage of their weapons more often, remember how to use grenades, and generally aim more effectively as well.

Starfield HD Overhaul

Starfield HD Overhaul is the Starfield equivalent of the Cyberpunk 2077 mod and Witcher 3 mod that improve almost every texture in the game. Like those mods, this one also includes textures at 4K resolution, with a few at 8K, and does so with minimal additional VRAM requirements. If you can run the game as it is, luxor8071 says you can run Starfield HD Overhaul without issue. The improvements apply to the Shattered Space expansion as well, though bear in mind there are a few things the mod doesn't touch, including weapon textures, armor, and planets. The creator said they felt these areas didn't need improvements.

Effect Textures Enhanced

  • Creator: Weijiesen - Team EVE
  • Download link: NexusMods

Speaking of improvements, this mod focuses on improving the quality of smaller effects, things such as the blaze from a gun when you fire it, blood, lasers, lightning, and even Starfield's rather odd-looking fire. It's a small Starfield mod compared to something like Improved Combat AI, but it helps improve all the little interactions and animations that seem slightly off-kilter in the vanilla game.

Royal Weathers

  • Creator: JaeDL – Starborn Royalty Knights
  • Download link: NexusMods

Royal Weathers is a sweeping overhaul to Starfield's weather system. It unlocks the limit Bethesda put on certain locations, where they could only have one or two weather events maximum, while adding new weather events and making transitions between them more natural. It's all built around logic as well, with weather effects that fit their locations--no rainstorms on barren moons without an atmosphere, for example. The creator included some optional texture packs that improve how certain weather events look as well, all of which are compatible with almost every other Starfield mod.

Add Spaceship To Your Fleet

Like the name suggests, this ship mod lets you just outright add ships to your fleet when you capture them. Normally, you have to go through a few extra steps by designating a captured vessel as your home ship--not a game-ruining problem, sure, but one that feels like a waste of time, especially if you capture ships a lot.

Stroud Premium Edition

This Starfield mod is for the ship builders and outer space homemakers. It adds more than 50 new, unique habitations for your home ship, including a suite designed specifically with the needs of your Constellation mates in mind. It's a thoughtful mod that takes different ship sizes and preferences into consideration, with mess halls, living quarters, and other units in several configuration sizes, including 1x1, 2x1, and 3x1 units, along with a set of utility modules. Just make sure you leave New Atlantis before installing the mod, or Starfield won't integrate it properly.

Ship Builder Tolerance Tweaks

On the subject of shipbuilding, Tolerance Tweaks makes adding new modules so much less of a nightmare. Starfield's default handling of unit overlap is quite strict, which makes fitting pieces together and ending up with a build you like more challenging than it needs to be. This mod loosens those restrictions and gives you more grace to have your ship modules touching and even overlapping slightly, making for an easier build and a more natural-looking finished result.

No Reactor Limit

Your ship build depends on the power of your reactor, though Starfield limits how many reactors you can have in each ship. The idea is to push you toward improving your piloting skill and getting higher-class reactors, but the limitations are still annoying to work around, particularly in the early game. This mod lets you put as many reactors as you want or need on your ship. The end result might be an unwieldy nightmare, but hey, at least it's a fully-powered unwieldy nightmare.

Betamax's Outpost Framework

Betamax's Outpost Framework is like Stroud Premium Edition, but for outposts, and it adds so much to Starfield's building. You've got the usual things, like new habitat styles, landing pads, and other big inclusions, along with smaller additions that make creating much easier. Hallways with doors, higher height limits, items that snap properly when you try positioning them, doors and windows designed for specific habitations--and that's just part of the mod's feature list. It also lets you include new pieces that make your space outpost feel more thematically appropriate, such as radar dishes for scan boosting, generators, and trade terminals.

Easy Digipick

This one does what it says on the package, and that's all it needs to be. Starfield's digipick lockpicking is notoriously challenging to get through, and Easy Digipick makes understanding what's required of you much simpler. The base version still requires you to invest in the digipick perk to improve your chances of success, though it also includes a feature that lets you instantly gain ranks in that perk.
