PSA: PS5, PS4 Losing 2 Multiplayer Games for Good in May 2025

Players are reminded that two of the six (so far) PS5, PS4 multiplayer games shutting down in 2025 will close their doors soon. Both Dauntless and MultiVersus — the closures of which somewhat surprised players — are preparing to bid adieu this month.

Monster Hunter-like role-playing game Dauntless is scheduled to go offline on May 29. On May 30, MultiVersus will be taken offline but those who own the game can play it offline following this date.

Dauntless developer Phoenix Labs has practically been gutted. The studio, founded by former Riot Games developers, was founded 11 years ago during which time it released Dauntless and farm sim, Fae Farm.

News of MultiVersus’ closure back in February was met with intense backlash due to unfulfilled developer promises that came with $100 Founder’s Packs. Despite being offline for an entire year following a successful beta, MultiVersus returned in May 2024 with incomplete and missing features, and no visible improvements.

The full list of PS4 and PS5 games being sunset in 2025 so far is as follows:
