Yesterday, Sony announced PS Plus Essential March 2025 monthly games, and it’s probably not an exaggeration to say that it rocked the gaming world. Headlining next month’s lineup is none other than Bioware’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard, a big-budget $70 AAA game that released just four months ago. This is unprecedented, especially from a major publisher with its own subscription service.
PS Plus Essential March 2025 games lineup might be talked about for years
Dragon Age isn’t the only monthly game for March, but it’s the one that’s being talked about the most. There’s no mention of PS Plus without players expressing their bewilderment at its inclusion in the lineup despite Electronic Arts previously admitting that Dragon Age: The Veilguard bombed.
Whether they’re subscribed to PS Plus or not and whether they’re PlayStation players or not, people are wondering just how much of a loss Dragon Age: The Veilguard made for it to be offered as a free game.
“Even Suicide Squad took 11 months for it to get dumped in PS Plus,” wrote one user. “We expect nothing but ancient games or flops to end up here,” wrote another. “Veilguard must have been a colossal flop,” a third opined.
Frankly, we were quite taken aback ourselves. We’re not privy to how much Sony pays publishers to add their games to PS Plus, but seeing Dragon Age in the monthly lineup months after launch has us scratching our heads, too.
Will our readers give it a shot?
