Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild Receive Switch 2 Upgrades
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be receiving upgrades on the Nintendo Switch 2. As part of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2, 2025, Nintendo revealed how the two games will be upgraded in their versions for the Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 enhancements also include support through Zelda Notes. This will be accessed through the Nintendo Switch App and provides GPS-like voice guidance to shrines and missed korok seed locations, QR Codes for creations in Tears of the Kingdom, and a photo studio for ingame screenshots. The games receiving upgrades for the Nintendo Switch 2, like Mario Party Jamboree, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokemon Legends Z-A will require a paid upgrade to access the new Switch 2 exclusive features if players already own the games for the original Nintendo Switch. It is not currently known how much it will cost.
