According to rumors and leaks, the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge is quite close. We can’t say it’s a highly anticipated device since it’s practically the “first of its kind” in the Galaxy lineup, so it’s kind of experimental. However, it will surely have a niche audience interested in what it offers. That said, the Galaxy S25 Edge has been spotted in the FCC database. This means its arrival on the market is just a few weeks away.
As spotted by 91mobiles, the Galaxy S25 Edge has already obtained its corresponding certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US. As a reminder, we exclusively brought you some details about the smartphone this month.
The FCC certifies the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
The FCC approved the device in three model numbers. There are listings for the SM-S937U and SM-S937U1 (with FCC ID A3LSMS937U), in addition to the SM-S937B/DS model. It’s possible that the variant with a “B” is the global version of the handset, while the “DS” would refer to Dual SIM support.
As usual, the FCC doesn’t offer details on the technical specifications of the devices it approves. Sometimes, the listings include real-life images, but that’s not the case either. Anyway, the filing will likely receive an update later with images of the smartphone. The Galaxy S25 Edge’s design isn’t a secret either, as Samsung itself revealed it earlier this year.
New mobile devices receive FCC certification just as their official announcement is about to happen. According to leaks, Samsung could launch the Galaxy S25 Edge on April 16. Furthermore, the South Korean giant is expected to unveil it without much fanfare, similar to the Galaxy S FE models. In other words, Samsung won’t be holding a dedicated event. Instead, it could simply enable the product page on its website and share an announcement on its social media channels.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be the thinnest Galaxy S model in the lineup’s history. It could boast a thickness of just 5.84 mm, which would still be slightly thicker than the rumored thickness of the iPhone 17 Air. However, Samsung’s device would have fewer compromises.
