PS Plus Essential April 2025 monthly games lineup went live on Tuesday, taking some players by surprise as they received two games instead of three. For some reason, players in India did not receive Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory, but it’s the quantity of games received that has left players in the region puzzled.

Sony’s handling of PS Plus Essential April 2025 monthly games causes confusion

It’s not uncommon for PS Plus lineup to have regional variations. Not all games are available in all regions during a given month, but Sony’s usual modus operandi is to offer players a replacement. For instance, last month’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection was replaced with Relayer in Japan.

Similarly, Dragon Age: The Veilguard was replaced by Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin in the Middle East, presumably because the Bioware title isn’t available in the region due to its LGBTQ+ content.

However, that isn’t the case in India this month. Instead of offering players a replacement, Sony has simply added two games — RoboCop: Rogue City and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre — to the regional lineup.

“I don’t care about Digimon, but 3 games is 3 games,” wrote one player. “It is weird that they are not offering a different title for India,” added another.

Some players have said that they will be emailing Sony Support for clarification. We can only wish them good luck with that.
