For one, Google says that it’s partnering with First Alert to introduce a new First Alert Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm, which will integrate with existing Nest Protect devices and works with managed via the Google Home app. It should be noted that current Nest Protect devices will continue to receive security updates and function until their expiration dates, and will be available for purchase while supplies last.

Additionally, Google says that it’s focusing on its smart lock experience with the Google Home app and will be teaming up with Yale to develop a new Yale Smart Lock with Matter, designed for Nest doorbells. Existing Nest x Yale Locks will still receive security updates, and features like passcode management will be coming to the Google Home app.
