Unfortunately, no. Google is not selling a Pixel 9a in 512GB of storage variant. The company is only selling two storage variants, which include 128GB and 256 GB. Typically, if you’re looking for a phone that is only $500, then you probably don’t need 512GB of storage, which is likely what Google’s reasoning is here. Although Apple’s new iPhone 16e is available with 512GB of storage, so there’s that.

With all of the AI features that Google is planning on offering, adding a 512GB variant would definitely be a good idea. Currently, AI Core is already using over 6GB of storage on my Pixel 9 Pro. However, we are expecting that the Pixel 9a will lose out on a number of AI features in the coming years, since Google did only outfit it with 8GB of RAM. While the other Pixel 9 models have at least 12GB.

Google’s Pixel 9a will be available on April 10

After being announced in March, the Google Pixel 9a saw a small delay. Google said that it was checking on a component quality, before it released the device, and it finally gave us a date for availability last week. That’s April 10. So on April 10, you’ll be able to buy the Pixel 9a from virtually everywhere. Google won’t be doing pre-orders this time around, it’ll simply be available to purchase.

The Google Pixel 9a does sport a 6.3-inch 120Hz display, making it the same size display as the Pixel 9. However, thanks to the thicker bezels on the Pixel 9a, it’s actually a bit larger than the Pixel 9 (and the Pixel 9 Pro, for that matter). Under the hood is the Tensor G4 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of storage. This is also being powered by a 5,100 mAh capacity battery, the largest ever in a Pixel device. Finally, the Pixel 9a does come in four colors, Iris, Peony, Obsidian, and Porcelain.
