PS5, PS4 Getting Award-Winning Former Switch Exclusive Shooter

An award-winning former Nintendo Switch shooter is headed to the PS5 and PS4 “soon,” its developer has announced. Digital Cybercherries’ Hypercharge: Unboxed — an intriguing first and third-person action figure shooter — originally released in 2020. The game will release on PlayStation sometime in 2025.

Following its launch as a Switch console exclusive Hypercharge: Unboxed headed to the PC followed by an Xbox launch last year. “We’ve had thousands of fans on social media asking us if and when it would be coming to PlayStation,” Digital Cybercherries said in a press release. “You asked, so we’ve delivered and are so pleased to announce that PlayStation players will get to join in on the fun soon.”

Hypercharge: Unboxed, which went on to become “smash hit,” will feature cross-play when it launches on PS5 and PS4. The game features co-op, offline solo, and competitive multiplayer modes.

“There was once an ancient line of action figures, who created a magical power source that would allow humans to keep their favorite childhood memories of their toys. This ancient power source is known as the Hypercore,” reads an official description. “Grab your friends, complete objectives, defend the Hypercore against waves of weaponized toys, and defeat Major Evil together in the story campaign.”
